Finger Foods for Allergic Babies

Here are some of the things Sam ate once he was able to feed himself. As I mentioned in a previous post, my goal was to provide him with the right amount of fat, protein, and carbs, not only to learn how to eat. He is allergic to milk, egg, and peanut so we needed to get everything from other sources.

  • homemade Chick-fil-a nuggets (recipe coming soon)
  • whole wheat pasta smothered in olive oil
  • avocado bits
  • baby quesadilla (I sauted black beans in oregano, cumin, and salt, smushed them up, and spread them in a flour tortilla.  
  • toast with Smart Balance Vegan Blend
  • beans!
  • homemade sweet potato fries or regular fries
  • apple and pear bits, cooked on the stove with a little bit of water until soft. I sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • grapes peeled and cut, orange slices (total fav), banana bits, cantelope, pinapple, strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes
  • carrot pieces cooked in a bit of water on the stove. I add brown sugar and butter (vegan) sometimes 🙂
  • canned chicken breast shredded (Swanson’s all-natural)
  • homemade “pizza” – I topped homemade dough with great northern beans smushed with olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper, spaghetti sauce, and ground beef.
