about me

Hi! I’m Jessica. I am the lucky mom to my little guys Sam and Ty. I just love being a stay-at-home mom although it is by far the most challenging thing I’ve ever done! I have learned so much over the past 2 1/2 years! What we have been through has also widened my compassion. Really, it seems silly to think about our “struggle” as difficult. Bu at the same time the past two years – as we have discovered and dealt with Sam’s allergies – have carved out a special niche in my heart for families like ours.

I feel for parents who wonder what’s wrong with their baby. For little toddlers who can’t eat like the rest of us. For tired, starving moms on restricted diets. For hungry husbands (or other family members) who aren’t allergic to anything and still want a really good meal at the end of the day. And also, for moms, grandmas, neighbors, and friends who struggle to plan meals that EVERYONE can eat.

So this website is my small little help for others facing problems like we did. I hope that the recipes and tips are helpful! Our goal is to create one place where people can find meals free of any major allergen! (This would mean recipes free of (or that could be adapted to be free of) wheat, egg, milk, nuts, peanuts, shellfish, and soy. We welcome new recipes you have discovered, adapted, or created! I bet if you stop to think about it, you have a few in your rotation you make regularly! Pass them on to theallergyfreekitchen@gmail.com. Thanks!

Here’s to happy cooking, happy eating, and happy babies!
